Casa Mani Capalbio: four houses in the Tuscan hills

Four new houses among the fields, horses and soft winds of southern Tuscany. A first look at what we are building near Capalbio.

Near Strada Provinciale 63, in the hills outside Capalbio in southern Tuscany, we are building something new: four houses surrounded by open fields, cultivations and grazing horses.

Architecture

We are in the process of constructing 4 houses of approximately 180 sqm each. Every house has 5 bedrooms plus an extra, smaller bedroom, a double-height lounge with a fireplace, and its own swimming pool looking over the polo field or the lake. Large verandas, open-air lounges and barbecue areas sit on soft grass with lots of light, and each house also has a covered terrace.

The architecture is modern, clean, sustainable and functional, using wood, marble and stone as base materials. Each house is furnished with a mixture of modern and vintage pieces and decorated with the works of well-known contemporary photographers.

Land & garden

Our guests will dwell in the calm and settling atmosphere of the Tuscan hills, overlooking fields, cultivations and grazing horses. Soft yet constant winds bring a lasting sense of clarity and order. The experience of space creates a sense of rootedness. Feeling lost, perhaps free.

Within the wide open fields, cosy and inviting guest houses give a sense of community and belonging. They are shelters against external and internal forces, which is why we give such importance to simplicity and harmony.

Experience design

Better, faster, stronger is not what experiences are about. Our experiences are not products to be consumed but memories to be created. They involve real people, living creatures and ecosystems, which have an equal right to rest. Our guests understand that nature is not a documentary. They desire authenticity, engagement and true, honest pleasure.

Instead of chasing the perfect light, picnic spot, animal sighting or weather, we provide abundance: riding a horse through the countryside, gardening workshops and activities, or picking a tomato from the garden and cooking it with a local recipe.

Dining

We believe in genuine and simple food. We care for fresh ingredients and traditional recipes, sometimes adding modern twists. Food is one of the most enjoyable ways of connecting to nature and its ecosystems, and we intend to bring the whole process alive, from season and seed to harvest and preparation.
